Classical Recordings

These are a select number of the classical guitar recordings from Jack's CD entitled "Mangoes in Madrid".

Most of these recordings have 2 tracks.  The first is from the written transcription of the piece.  The second track is an improvisational lead or embellishment over the original.  Nobody seems to do that in the world of classical recordings.  But it can produce some unique and interesting juxtapositions of music theory and approach from 200+ years ago and a modern ethos influenced by jazz, rock, and latin rhythms.

Both tracks were done uninterrupted and unedited.  There are no cuts or splices, no fixes, no editing of any kind.  It's essentially a 'live' recording albeit done in a studio.  Jack's personal motive was to produce an authentic performance which he feels is too rare in our current world of music.

All of these recordings were done on a Sobrinos de Domingo Esteso flamenco guitar built in 1945 in Madrid, Spain.
