Who are The Wall Cats ?

The Wall Cats are Jack, Susan, and their longtime friend Dennis (who has been drumming with them for 15 years).

Jack started playing guitar in 1968 and plays all styles from blues, jazz, and rock, to acoustic fingerstyle and flamenco.  Trained in classical technique, he gigged exclusively for more than a decade as a classical guitarist.

Susan is an amazing vocalist with an astonishing memory for song lyrics. Besides instantly recalling the words to thousands of songs, she also plays guitar!

Dennis has been playing drums for well over 50 years and has taken the stage with more bands and done more gigs than he'll ever remember.

We do have other musicians perform with us.  So there's a high probability there will be more than just the 3 of us on stage.

Just tryin' to have some fun

The Wall Cats just want to have fun and share our original music with as many people as possible.

Let's all be a part of something cool, groovy, sometimes emotional, and definitely worth it.

Here's a trio of swampy blues to sample.  This little trio was recorded solo by Jack.  We'll be posting links to other songs with Susan and with the full band.

The fourth song is another solo recording by Jack.  It's a finger style
Americana piece called Graffiti Art.

Tell us what you like

One of the things we really strive for is versatility.

Just like all musicians, we have a particular style of music that is just a part of how we naturally express ourselves.

But with the choice of songs, we love it all, and we can and do play it all.

Sometimes a venue will want a particular kind of music.   If we know that, we will create an appropriate set list.

Sometimes that means bringing in other musician friends to play horns, or congas or keyboards.

We're good with all of that.  We're just wanting to have a great time.

We've played almost every kind of gig you can imagine, from dive bars to black tie events, rodeo arenas to upscale wineries, private parties to festivals.  Along the way we've learned some things.  One of those is how to read an audience.  Another is that everyone there is just trying to have fun.  We're all in this crazy world together, so ya know, let's make it happen.
